Yes, I did say Jazz at Woodlawn Cemetery and why not. I don't know how it got started but musicians like to be buried here and as cemeteries go the place has wonderful ambience. So on September 24, 2006 a group of Julliard musicians came together to honor Jazz greats like Duke Ellington, Sam Lewis, Milt Jackson, Lionel Hampton, Illinois Jacquet, W.C Handy, Miles Davis, Charles "Cootie" Williams and Coleman Hawkins by playing their music. All the honorees were in attendance because Woodlawn in the Bronx New York is their final place of residence.
The excellent performers:
Victor Gaines - Tenor Saxophone, Brandon Lee Trumpet, Maluku Katakura Piano, Philip Kuehn Bass and MacClenny Hunter Drums.
