~ Yichang ~ 09 Sept [ 8 Hours ]
Yichang/Guangzhou (B L D) 09 Sept By Air CZ3312 (21:40-23:30)
Transfer to the flight CZ3232 (09:50-10:40) to Guangzhou, on arrival, transfer to the hotel.
So here we are arriving by bus at Yichang pier. It is 12:30PM and our plane ride to Guangzhou is 11 hours away. Well the first thing we did was eat lunch and that used up one hour. Did I mention that there is nothing to do in Yichang? We asked our guide about an internet café and he decided to take us to the CITS office so we could use the company’s terminals. We did not want to go to a silk making, jade carving, snuff bottle painting or pearl establishment. Our guide did not know what to do with us. We decided on a small museum selling registered Chinese artifacts. Although a few were very beautiful we were not in the mood to make a $300.00 purchase. I say we because after a 45 minute discussion we both decided that it would be nice but not that nice. The time was 4 PM so we went to our dinner restaurant and had tea, talk and sweets until 7:30PM. The conversation was very stimulating and the time melted away. We had dinner at 7:30PM and watched in total amazement as our guide berated and chastised the small female server for bringing the wrong dish. It was like watching a medieval oriental film he screamed in Mandarin and she backed out of the room with the dish in two hands and head bowed.
That’s a take and a wrap Mr. Demille.
We arrived at the deserted Yichang airport at 10:40 with time to spare.
